Paul's Insurance Service

In the summer of 1974, Paul Pipes and his wife, Joyce, opened “Paul’s Insurance Service” in  New Philadelphia, Ohio. They, along with their first employee, Jan Groh, worked diligently to build an independent property & casualty agency focusing on customer service.

In 1984, Paul’s son, Scott, a recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Insurance from BGSU, began selling Life & Health Insurance, as a separate operation, in the same building as Paul's Insurance Service.

1990
Becoming Pipes Insurance Service, LTD.

In 1990, Scott bought into Paul's Insurance Service, prompting the business to change its name to “Pipes Insurance Service”. Later, Scott purchased the remaining interest in the company after news that Paul had a serious health condition. Also at that time, Paul's other son, Rick, moved back to New Philadelphia to be with his family and began working at the agency. Sadly, in 1993, Paul passed away.
